100 SIDEWAYS MILES by Andrew Smith :|: Review & Giveaway :|: @marburyjack :|: @simonteen

About the Book:

100 SIDEWAYS MILES
by: Andrew Smith
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Pages: 277
Published: September 2, 2014
Finn Easton sees the world through miles instead of minutes. It’s how he makes sense of the world, and how he tries to convince himself that he’s a real boy and not just a character in his father’s bestselling cult-classic book. Finn has two things going for him: his best friend, the possibly-insane-but-definitely-excellent Cade Hernandez, and Julia Bishop, the first girl he’s ever loved.

Then Julia moves away, and Finn is heartbroken. Feeling restless and trapped in the book, Finn embarks on a road trip with Cade to visit their college of choice in Oklahoma.

When an unexpected accident happens and the boys become unlikely heroes, they take an eye-opening detour away from everything they thought they had planned—and learn how to write their own destiny.

Guest Review by Karin:

:|:  Another great read by Andrew Smith :|:

Finn's mother died when he was 7 by a horse that fell 100 sideways miles and landed on both of them. Fortunately, Finn lived and is now 16, plays baseball, and is unfortunately an epileptic.
:|:

Once again Andrew had me away from reality and totally engrossed in a life far from mine. My grandkids thought I was going crazy while I read this. Crying, laughing out loud, and talking to the book.
:|:

Kudos, Mr. Smith. You did it again. You had this old woman feeling the emotions of a teenage boy as he learns to live for himself. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone and will definitely read the next novel that Smith releases. Do yourself a favor and grab 100 SIDEWAYS MILES today.
:|: I promise, you won’t regret it. :|:

“Worry and regret are both useless weights that provide no drag. They never did anything to slow down the planet for one goddamned second.”
