Waiting on Wednesday - Torn by Cat Clarke

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we seriously can’t wait for.

So, after reading the amazing novel, Entangled by the lovely Cat Clarke, I just knew that I needed to obtain anything that came from this woman's creative mind. When I found out about Torn I got a little giddy inside. Now I just have to deal with the waiting part. I don't have too long though. Torn will be released by Quercus Publishing Plc on January 5, 2012.
Let's check it out, Shall we..

Torn

An exploration of teenage jealousy, revenge, guilt and lies.

A secret to horrific to tell, too terrible to keep. Four girls. One dead body. A whole lot of guilt. Alice King isn't expecting the holiday of a lifetime when she sets off with her classmates on a trip to the Scottish wilderness, but she's not exactly prepared for an experience beyond her darkest nightmares...Alice and her best friend Cass are stuck in a cabin with Polly, the social outcast, and Rae, the moody emo-girl. Then there's Tara - queen of mean. Powerful, beautiful and cruel, she likes nothing better than putting people down. Cass decides it's time to teach Tara a lesson she'll never forget. And so begins a series of events that will change the lives of these girls forever...A compelling story of guilty secrets, troubled friendship and burgeoning love.

Top 100 YA List

I saw this groovy post on Rachel from Fiktshun's blog who found it from Novel Thought's & Kaitlyn in Bookland's blog. I do believe that Reading Teen had a part in this and they got the idea from the folks over at Book Briefs!  As you can imagine the list goes on and on.
Rachel had so much fun with it and was very creative with her post (as always!) I thought I might as well give it a try. The only downside could be... is a trip to the bookstore, right?

I've highlighted the books I've read in purple. And, as you can see only 13 of the 100 lines have purple in it, so what does that mean for me exactly? Am I not a hipster? Hmm..

Review & Giveaway - Weaving Destiny (The Soulkeepers #2) by G.P. Ching

Weaving Destiny
Weaving Destiny (The Soulkeepers #2)
by G.P. Ching

Malini Gupta thought Jacob Lau was her destiny. But after months of failing to decipher how she fits into the Soulkeepers, frustration threatens to tear their relationship apart. And it doesn't help that a new Soulkeeper named Mara is ready to stop time itself to earn Jacob's love.

When Malini faces her worst fears, and even death, she learns a funny thing about destiny. Fate is a tapestry of choices, and she has the power to weave hers.

My Thoughts:

Wow! Gen Ching brought something wonderful and refreshing to the table with Weaving Destiny! After reading The Soulkeepers, I wasn't sure how the sequel would play out. To my surprise I loved it! The novel went smooth and was a well worded, fast paced read.

As the characters from the previous book are still around, we are introduced to a couple more people in this book and we also get to meet a few more that we didn't get around to spending time with in the first book. You will love to hate some of them and hate to love some. Gen created a world right out of hell so perfect that it is seriously on FIRE!

While the gang is loving to hate one another, the Soulkeepers fight to keep the humans' souls safe  from the Watchers, they are also learning to use their powers; at least the individuals that have powers that is.. for the ones that don't -- they are still trying to figure that out.

But for now, big trouble is brewing in Paris, Illinois, because Lucifer is preparing a battle to bring the Soulkeepers down and only one of them can stop him. The trouble is that person doesn't know it yet.

If you haven't read this series yet, I'm telling you.. do it! You won't be sorry.

My Rating
5 Stars!

To entice you just a little bit, I have a prize pack to give away. Check it.
