Blog Tour: COLD FURY + FLICKER & BURN by @TMGoeglein [Reviews, Book Trailer + Giveaway]

Jason Bourne meets The Sopranos in this breathtaking adventure.

Sara Jane Rispoli is a normal sixteen-year-old coping with school and a budding romance--until her parents and brother are kidnapped and she discovers her family is deeply embedded in the Chicago Outfit (aka the mob).

Now on the run from a masked assassin, rogue cops and her turncoat uncle, Sara Jane is chased and attacked at every turn, fighting back with cold fury as she searches for her family. It's a quest that takes her through concealed doors and forgotten speakeasies--a city hiding in plain sight. Though armed with a .45 and 96K in cash, an old tattered notebook might be her best defense--hidden in its pages the secret to "ultimate power." It's why she's being pursued, why her family was taken, and could be the key to saving all of their lives.

Action packed, with fresh, cinematic writing, Cold Fury is a riveting and imaginative adventure readers will devour.

It became my opinion too, and he and I became friends. Actually, more than friends--Willy became family. It's ironic, then, that he taught me what would become the most important skill I possess in trying to find my actual family. Not just how to fight, but to run for my life, so that I could live to fight another day.

Fast paced. Action pact. Suspenseful and amazing. This novel was a nail biter. It rarely slowed down and made me question things over and over again. I found myself carefully reading as to not miss a single syllable or a bit of important information. Sara Jane finds herself alone and her family is either dead or gone. To top it off she can't trust anyone and it's the night of her 16th birthday. What a way to start a year!

This book has surprise after surprise. Ted Goeglein comes off as a seasoned writer with best seller written all over this book. I am super excited that I got the chance to be among the first to read this series. I just know it will take off and EVERYONE will want to read this book!

Every chapter ends with a BANG! Every chapter begins with a heart pumping twist to entice the reader into never putting this book down till the very last page.

Sara Jane was my idea of the perfect protagonist. She was adventurous, stunningly smart and socially awkward. She doesn't have friends but hangs with her family most of the time. To her, this is not at all weird but to kids her own age, it certainly is. Her Uncle Buddy takes her to a boxing gym and hooks her up with the best teacher, Willy, who soon becomes family to Sara. Willy is instrumental in teaching Sara Jane how to fight, how to win, and how to kick some ass!

The notebook isn't a family history, and it isn't an archive of criminal evidence. It's an instruction manual for operating the Outfit, from its secretive, singular boss at the very top of the organization, down to its soldiers on the street. There is a kind of danger on those pages that can strike and kill quickly, quietly, and efficiently. It's a leather-bound nuclear weapon, and I won't hesitate it use it.

I would certainly recommend "Cold Fury" for any reader who enjoys exciting adventures, swift turns and heart pounding conclusions.
This book is a perfect example as to why I always gravitate to less known authors. They seem to always write the best books.

Sara Jane Rispoli is still searching for her missing family, but instead of fighting off a turncoat uncle and crooked cops, this time she finds herself on the run from creepy beings with red, pulsing eyes and pale white skin chasing her through the streets in ice cream trucks; they can only be described as Ice Cream Creatures.

They're terrifying and hell bent on killing her, but they're also a link to her family, a clue to where they might be and who has them. While she battles these new pursuers, she's also discovering more about her own cold fury and more about the Chicago Outfit, how the past misdeeds--old murders and vendettas--might just be connected to her present and the disappearance of her family. But connecting the dots is tough and time-consuming and may finally be the undoing of her relationship with the handsome Max--who's now her boyfriend.

But for his own safety, Sara Jane may have to end this relationship before it even really starts. Her pursuers who've shown her, her mother's amputated finger and the head of the Chicago Outfit who's just whistled her in for a sit-down make a romance unthinkable.

The only thing that matters is finding her family and keeping everyone she loves alive.

MY NAME IS SARA JANE RISPOLI. It's not my birthday and I haven't eaten cake since I turned sixteen, but I'm plagued by ice cream. It anyone offers me a cone, I'll break his nose. I've been chased for the past month by a creepy black truck that sells frozen treats, and just when I've shaken it, the little nightmare comes tinkling around the corner again.
A continuation in the Cold Fury series, this book heats up the series even more. Sara Jane Rispoli only wants to save her family. She doesn't care about anything that might try to stand in her way. That includes friends, family and even the homicidal ice cream creatures tailing her. Yes that is right, I said ice cream creatures.

Readers who continue with this series will be richly rewarded with constant on edge suspense, constant fighting and chase scenes and a story that doesn't stop surprising you to the end. I loved the emotion, anger, and chilling storyline of this book. I feel like readers get to see a new side to Sara Jane. She is no longer weak, or scared by life. She is fierce, determined and willing to do almost anything to get what she wants.

The author introduces new characters as well. Sara's Uncle Jack appears with his family and in walks Heather who is beyond beautiful but at the same time connected to Sara Jane. The girls immediately feel a connection and become fast friends. However, Heather is just learning new things about the family and herself, will she remain loyal to Sara or will Heather be just another disappointment in Sara Jane's life?

No, I said. But there was a moment when I was sure they were, and that the creatures were responsible. Right before cold fury kicks in, I feel scared and threatened, but this was different. It wasn't a terrible thing that might happen to my family...it absolutely had happened. My love for them morphed into something murderous. It was like, if I loved my dad, mom, and Lou, then I owed it to them to kill the creature.

Prepare yourself for anther wild ride in Sara Jane's pursuit of her family. Prepare yourself for the adventure, the conflict, the exciting thrill of the emotions that will grip you throughout this book. Hold on, and just try to put this book down. I dare you!
