Happy birthday to you.
When I began blogging three years ago, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. (To be honest, I still don't. I just kind of go with the flow and do my own thing.)
I have learned several things that are most awesome. I've seen things and experienced opportunities that I never would have imagined during the last three years. I've made friends that I otherwise would not and I've read more books than I can possibly count.
Instead of me going on and on about what I've done (or haven't for that matter) I'm going to show you some of my favorite things and then we'll get to the goodies.
Author events!
The very first Author Event I attended was for Richelle Mead. I had no clue who she was and didn't own the 3 previous books in the series.
From there I went on to attend several events. Eventually, I began to moderate and interview the authors.

I've only started to blog, and I just post book reviews for now. I love to share my reviews with other readers, as well as helping authors. My blogging and reviewing has resulting in meeting many authors (virtual meetings, at least). It is fascinating to meet so many wonderful people and to realize that no matter how great the writers may be, they are human. They are so very kind to me. I have loved every moment of my journey. My blog is super primitive, nothing at all as lovely as yours. I hope my journey will mimic yours in some tiny way. That would make me ecstatic. Thank you for sharing and thanks for hosting this fabulous giveaway. michelle_willms@yahoo.com

ReplyDeleteB -- Being able to communicate directly with authors I wouldn't normally discover
ReplyDeleteL -- Learning the ins and out of the writing industry before I get into it
O -- Obsessing over authors with people that understand the obssession
O -- Oggling over books that haven't even hit the bookstores yet
G -- Going to signings and having something to say other than OMG, I LOVE YOU HAVE MY BABIES, KK?
G -- Getting access to more books than I could ever possibly read
I -- Inspiration for my own writing
N -- Networking
G -- Guilting myself into getting stuff done on time. I'm a horrible procrastinator and blogging has forced me to get better at scheduling things.
Not a blogger but love to share and read the excerpts of the wonderful books you all share and I thank you so much!!! Can't believe how much it helps.

Congratulations on your blogoversary!! 3 years is nothing to scoff at and it looks like you have had a most wonderful year! I have been blogging for under just under a year and I hope to be celebrating MY 3 year blogoversary in a couple years too! You are so lucky to have met all the authors you have met and gone to all those awesome conventions! How do you rein your book craziness (we all are book crazy!) in with that impressive collection you have there?!? My favorite part about blogging is (of course) reading all those awesome books and I LOVE LOVE LOVE chatting and getting to know more about the authors of the books I review! To me, it's very surreal! I look up to these people and then get to talk to them and realize...they are just normal people, you know? I also enjoy meeting other like minded people! To be honest I am a new fan of Lady Readers Book Stuff, but I am now following on Bloglovin' and on Twitter! BTW...I am a HUGE fan of Lucille Ball and I love the image from I Love Lucy you have at the top of the post! She was hilarious! Other kids were watching like Hey! Arnold! and I was watching I Love Lucy, LOL.
